INTIMIDATION
YOUNG MAN GUILTY MAJOR CHARGE REJECTED (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 4. Afc the Supreme Court today, Colin Alfred Jensen, aged 25, who was charged with attempting to murder Frederick Sydney Broad and with several less serious counts, was found guilty of discharging a firearm with intent to intimidate, and guilty of securing a revolver illegally by way of trespass. On all other charges a verdict of not guilty was returned.' Sentence was deferred. Mr^ Findlay, for Jensen, said that by no stretch of reasoning could it be said that the accused intended tq shoot Mr. Broad or any members of the family. It had been shown that the parties were on friendly terms. There no motive for him to do injury to the Broad family. Tho real offence, to which'there had been no defence offered, was the charge of intimidation. There could bo no denying tho fact that the accused had gone to the house to frighten tho occupants. It was tod absurd to suggest that tho accused intended to murder.
