HUTT VALLEY LADIES.

The annual meeting of the' Hutt Valley Ladies' Club ■ was held recently. • The report and balance-sheet showed tho club to be in a very good financial position. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. \V. Nash, M.F.; president, Sirs. Campbell (re-elected) ; captain, Mrs. Nicholas (rc-olected) ; vlcccaplaln, Mrs. Johnson (re-elected); secretary and treasurer, Mrs! Nightingale (ro-clectcrl) ; delegate to W.M.K.A., Mrs. Nightingale (reeloctcd). The following ladies, in conjunction with the officers of the club, form an able and strong committee: Mrs. Lindop, Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Greenfield, Mrs. McKerclicr, and Miss Mllford. The club is shooting at. the Drill Hall range, Xclson Street. There arc several new members, and from appearances will this season be stronger than ever. Home very good shooting has been recorded. Congratulations to Mrs. Taylor who secured a possible1 (70) on her first shoot of the season.The club recently entertained members- of tlite Defence Department to a friendly shoot. The ladies won by a small margin. Mr. Swift, of the Army, was presented by Mrs. Nicholas, captain of the ladies, with a small trophy on gaining first honours. The consolation prize went -to Mr.' Crcagh. Mrs. Campbell (presi■lent), on behalf of the club, extended to StaffSerKeant Taylor thanks for his kindness, as through his courtesy the club had secured the Defence Department's , range. Mr. Taylor, in responding, said that if at any time lie could do anything to further tho interests of their club he would be only too pleased.
