lii order to preserve the' mass-clocks, or primitive sundials, which are still to be found on a great number of Worcestershire churches, the Bishop of Worcester recently addressed a letter to nil incumbents asking that a search bo made for any mass-clocks, and that, particulars be reported. The replies wore Inter summarised and added to under the direction of Sir John .Sumner, to whom the plan was primarily duo, and the Diocesan Advisory Committee now possesses a practically complete inventory of every mass-clock iv the diocese. The- inventory shows that mass-clocks aro on 51 churches, exclusive- of tho disused chapel at Ncthert.on, or rather less than a quarter of tho total number of churches in the <tioce««.
