PARENTS CONFER
QUEEN MARGARET COLLEGE
There was a large gathering of parents at the recent annual meeting of the Queen Margaret College Parents' Association, which took place at. the college. • ■ ' ■' i-1 .' ■ . The president (Mr. ,W. M. Page), in presenting a report of the year 'c work, made special mention of the losa sustained by the death of the late Mr. C. K. Webb, registrar of the college, who had played a largo part in the formation of tho association. The appreciation of the parents waa expressed to the principal (Miss Wilson)-for her able and wise control of tho college-, and the high ideals set before the pupils. Thanks were extended to the principal, Miss Smith, Mr. Ffltch, and .to Mr. J. T. Martin. Extension of the tennis courts was authorised. Votes of thanks were also passed to the retiring committee, Mr. Page (president for the past three years), and Mr. Hoby (secretary and treasurer of the association since its inception). Messrs. McLay and J. T. Martin (membors of. the board of governors) addressed the meeting. The principal referred to the work of the college, and expressed the appreciation of the staff at the support given by the association. At the conclusion of the meeting an excellent musical programme, in which items were given by Miss C. Moncrioff, Mr. and Mrs. E. Meier, and Miss Walters was much enjoyed by all; The election of officers resulted as foUowa:—President, Mr. D. 0. Mazcngarb; vice-president, Mrs. Widdop; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. K. Edie; committee, Mesdames L. - Eluudell, Clabburn, T. J. Covkill, Dallard, Eastwood, Eichclbaum, Dinnie, Johns; MacLean, Martin, Mazeugarb, Mclntyre, Norman, Paulin, Eawson, Messrs. Ferguson, Ffitch, Hoby, McKellar, Miller, Page, Picot, and Richmond.
