STRANGE CHICAGO CASE
POLICE SEEM DOUBTFUL
(Received April 22, 8.30 a.m.) CHICAGO, April 21. ; Apparently unharmed, Jerome Factory the 19-year-old North Western TJniver-i sity student, who was held captive bj; kidnapper's for 50,000 dollars ransom,: was freed early on Friday^aad Teturned" to the apartment of his mother, Mrs, Leonard Marcus. Some of the police are inclined td believe that at least part of the ransom was paid, but Mr. John. Factor, tha father of the youth, and'an international speculator, denied this. Jerome stated that he did not recall the details of his abduction or ra» lease, but said he was treated well. The abdugtion occurred several dayi before the elder Factor's appeal to the United States Supreme Court from an order extraditing him to England to face charges of mulcting investors of seven million, dollars.
