| Wellington brokers held their usual fortnightly sales of hides, skins, and tallow , yesterday, the usual bench of buyers operating. , Light hides were l-8d up on last sale, rates; mediums, %d to 3-8 d dearer;' heavies 1-Sd to '-id higher. Kip, yearling, and calf were %dto %d lower. IPry'sheepskius .were about the same price. Tallow was unchanged. Horse hair, 9%d Sales of sheepskins and hides .held at Auckland yesterday-attracted a'-.full,at-tendance of overseas and local tanners. Competition was keen, but values were mostly unchanged. Dry, fine crossbred, 4d per lb- coarse crossbred, 2V2d; medium crossbred 2%d; half to three-quarter wool, "%d- short to half wool, 2%d; quarter wool, 2d; lambs, 2%d; pelts, lVid. Salted: Best, 2s to 2s 8d each; good, Is 3d to Is 6d; medium, 9d to Is. Hides: Abattoirs, extra heavy ojt, 4 1-Sd, heavy 4d, medium 4d light 3?id, all passed in prices; extra heavy cow, 4 l-Bd, heavy 4 1,4 d, medium 4%d light 4 14 d, yearlings 5y 2 d; best calf 5V4d, good 5V4d, all passed in prices Country butchers: Extra heavy ox, 4 3-8 d per 18, heavy 4 1-Sd, medium 4d, light 3%d; extra heavy cow, 3%d, heavy 3 7-Sd, medium 3 7-Bd, light 3 7-Bd, yearlings 4 5-8 d best calf sd, inferior and damaged 2%d. Tallow: Best mixed. 14s lOd, medium 13s lOd, poor 10s to 12s.
