W.E.A. LECTURES

The Workers' Educational Association has commenced its courses of lectures. Although, carrying on with extremely reBtricted financial resources, it has been able to arrange an'interesting programme of lectures for the city and suburbs..Professor B. E. Murphy, will again conduct' the class in economics, and has arranged a course of twenty lectures, dealing very comprehensively with economics in special relation to present-day problems. Professor T. A. Hunter is to give a course of twenty lectures on "Psychology in th» Service of Man," and Dr. I. L. G. Sutherland will give twelve lectures on anthropology under the general heading of "Primitive Life arid Civilised Life." Miss Mary Copley, M.A., will again take the class in literature and and a playreading circle will be formed. Later ia the session Dr. J. C. Beagleholo will give a course of eight lectures on "The Pacific —Its Exploration and Present Problems." Short courses on Saturday evenings will be given during the session by Mr. F. L. Combs, M.A., on "New Zealand History, and by Professor G..W.. Yon Zedlitz on "Literature." In September, Miss Valeric Corliss, A.R.A.M., will give four lecturerecitals on "The Nature of , Music, the Purpose of Art Expression, and the Psychology of Stylp." At Lower Hutt Mr. A. E. Campbell, M.A., dip. Ed., will give a course of lectures on social psychology, and he will be followed by Miss Mary, Cooley, M.A., on literature and the. drama. All city classes will be held'in .the Trades Hall, Vivian Street, and will be available free to unemployed men and women. Ail extensive library is available to W33..A. members, and the discussion hour which follows the tutor's lecture is a. special feature of the movement.
