MINISTER INDUCTED

The Rev. L. J. Horwood, who has succeeded the Rev. B. J. James to the charge of the Petone Methodist-Church, was inducted on Thursday night. The Bey. T. R. Richards, chairman of the Wellington district of the Methodist Church, conducted the service,. and Mi. S. T. S. Martin, vice-president of the Methodist Church of Jvew Zealand, gave the induction address. Congratulations to the congregation on their choice of a new minister were extended by the Rev. Mr. Richards, and the circuit stewards welcomed Mr. Horwood. The Rev. H. A. Sharp, of Lower Hutt, also spoke. Music was provided by the Petone Methodist Church choir. A social gathering followed, at which the new minister and his wife were cordially welcomed by the Mayor of Petone (Mr. D. McKcnzio), the Rev. J. C.-Loan, on behalf of the Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. G. V. Gerard, M.A., on- behalf of the Church of England. Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, was the Rev. Mr. Horwood's last charge.
