A FAMILY DEAD-HEAT
The dead heat between Bandy Boa and Silvern in ,the Gardner Memorial Steeplechase at the Birchwood Hunt Mooting at Inverrargill last Saturday provided some extraoidmary features. Both horses are owned by membeis of the. Langford family, and j:hey vveie ridden by twin brothers, Mr. T. A. Langfoid, a gentleman rider, having the Mount on Silvern, and Mr. V. Langfoid, who holds both tiaining and riding licences, being on Bandy Boa. A further inteies.tmg point is that each hoi so paid exactly the same dividend. Bandy Boi was the actual favouute, but the margin was so small as to make no diffeience in the price.
