(Special to "The EvenlnQ Post.") MASTEETON, This Day. The first of a series of annual meetings of Wairarapa branches of the j Farmers' Union was held on Monday night, when the Greytown branch met. I Mr. W. G. K. Wiggins presided over a j large attendance of members. ! Arrangements were made for a cull cow drive, the animals to bo killed on, Friday.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—Chairman, Mr. W. G. K. Wiggins; vice-chairman, Mr. N. i\ Skeet; delegates to intcrprovinoial conference, to be held in Masterton in Ma}', Messrs/. Wiggins, Tate, and R. Bue; members of Warrarapa Provincial Executive, Messrs. Wiggins, Bue, and 0. Skeet. The retiring committee was re-elected with the addition of Messrs. J. Barr, E. L. Field, and E. Whiteman. The following remits were passed: (a) That the P. and T. Department be asked for a fifty per cent, reduction in rural mail fees; (b) that every possible reduction be applied to the rentals of telephones to all sections of the community; (c) that farmers' lorries carrying dairy produce to and from dairy factories be exempt from heavy traffic licences.

It is an interesting fact that three of Windbag's best sons, Chatham, Winobka, and Topical, have been out of sprinting mares—Myosoti?, Kanooka, and Parody. The three vrere bought at auction as yearlings for the following suras:—Chatham, 650 guineas; Winooka, 290 guineaa; Jopical, 1240 guineas.
