A brown trout -weighing 101b was caught in a small tributary of the Tongariro Eiver ncar v Toltanmi last week- by Mr.' C. A. J. Randrup's party. states tho "Now Zealand Herald." Tho fish was brought to Auckland, and anglers who saw it agreed that few fish of such condition had been caught for many months. Mr. Rnndrup said that after tho recent big flood trout had sought refuge in the tributaries of tho Tongariro to escape the mudfTy water, but the river was now almost clear- again. Just after the flood strong fish Tvero not to be found in tha usual pools.
