FEILDING, March 31. Prices for fat sheep firmed appreciably at the stock Bale today, when a. fairly large yarding, war offered. Fat maiden ewes: Very good, 12s 9d; very prime black-face ewes; 10s Id; prime ewes, 7s 6d; good, 6s 3d to 6s lOd; medium, Ss 7d to 5s lOd. ..; ..,/•. ... (. . y The market for | breeding ewes was not so good, auctioneers being unable in some cases to coax buyers to vendors' reserves. Four and five-year ewes, r.w: S.D. rams, 6s 9d to 7s Id for good quality; otjjerfi, 5s 6d to 5s 8d; four-tooth ewes, r.w. S.D. rams made 3s Id; two-tooth.ditto, passed at up to 10s" 6d; woolly ewe lambs made 10s; b.f. lambs, 8a; 9d and 8s lOd; m.s. lambs, 5s to 7s 3d; cull ewes, 3s 9d to 4s. There was good inquiry for dairy cattle.
