The board is informed' that the butter market is irregular. Danish butter is being retailed at Is per lb; and New Zealand at lOd. ■ '■>■■ 'i '- • ■ ■ At 67s to 60s per cwt for New Zealand butter the return is equivalent to 7%d per \]b free on board. ' With regard to cheese, New Zealand ■white is quoted at 40s per cwt, and extra quality 41s.- This'is equivalent to 4.08 d per lb free on board. New Zealand coloured cheese is quoted at 47s to 48s, equal /t0'5.03d per lb free on board. Australian white cheese -is down to 38s to 30s per cwt, and coloured 45s to 465. Canadian cheese is commanding 60s to 68s per cwt. English farmers' cheese, S4s to 102s per ■ cwt. , • . , New Zealand' cheese i? selling retail in the United Kingdom1 at 6d per lb. Dry weather in most of the dairying districts of New South Wales, and the heed ,6F "good soakiug rains" in the dairying areas of Queensland were' reported as at March 25 last. The usual heavy, rains of January and February.: failed, and hot, dry winds, took their, place. Butter output in Victoria was'reportedby Ptfescott, I-td., .to be shrinking due to continued dry weather.
