COMPENSATION AWARDED
In the Arbitration Court yesterday John Jason Corrin, baker, Upper Hutt, claimed compensation from W. Isaac and Sons, bakers, Wellington, for injuries received to his right hand while in the employ of the defendants. " The case was originally heard in October, 1931. According to the statement of claim, the plaintiff was lifting a log of wood when a splinter entered his right hand. He was totally incapacitated for a period, and it was stated that he would be partially disabled for a long time. One finger was amputated, and he had lost the use of two fingers of the hand. A suspensory judgment was given in favour of the plaintiff, and the Court adjourned the further hearing of the case in order to determine the effect of time and treatment on the other fingers of the hand. It was also agreed that compensation at the rate of 8 per cent, be paid for the loss of the ring finger. Mr. 0. S. Mazengarb appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. C. A. L. Treadwell for the defendants. The Court was asked yesterday to review the decision it had previously gwen. After hearing evidence the Court awarded full compensation for the period of total incapacity and for certain payments during the period of partial disablity. .' . '
