Extremes of temperature were experienced in New South Wales on Sunday and Monday. »
There was oppressive heat on Sunday, and then came a sudden chango overnight, and people shivered on Monday. The temperature by midnight was 49 degrees, the lowest for March since 1866. Readings in the Southern Highlands were in the thirties.
