DRUIDS' CONFERENCE

PALMEBSTON N., This Day. The biennial conference of the Grand Lodge of Druids is being held here, over a hundred delegates being present from all lodges in the jurisdiction. For the first time in the history of tho order, a lady delegate representing a lodge is( present at the conference. Eeports adopted show that d,espitd the difficulties of tho time3 progress lias been recorded, the total member-> ship being 13,764, including 272 lady) members.
Tho balance-sheet'"showed that the various funds had increased by £41,517 10s 6d, the chief details being sick and funeral fund £.21,988 lls lid, death benefit fund £11,519 17s 7d, special death benefit fund £1052 14s 3d, members' investments £6850 9s^4d; total funds £676,189. A sum of £20,043 has been expended in benefits to members^ [ and sick benefits and funeral benefits | totalled £12,996,
The conference is now considering remits.
The Wellington Chamber of Commerca will hold a luncheon tomorrow, when Mr, J. M. A. Ilott will address members.
