INVERCARGILL, March 21.

Fears are- being entertained for the •afety of Herbert George Oran, aged 20,'a single man employed at the Invercargill branch of the Public Trust Office, who has been reported to the polico as missing.

Oran left on his annual leave a week ago on a bicyclo for Orepuki, it being his 'intention to push on from there- to Tuatapere* He was last seen at Mbnowai on Friday entering the bush, and making, it is believed, for the. Manapouri. track.

When Mr. Oran failed "to meet friends, searchers were sent out, and traces of him were found for two miles into ■ the bush, but they were then lost. Mr. Oran was expected homo on Saturday, and had to resume work today, but there has been no sign of him.
