CIVIC LEAGUE
Representations have agahi been made to the City Council-by the Civic League tha!t the present method of voting in the local body elections is confusing, and is largely responsible for a. high percentage of informal voting at the polls.
Attention is called to the fact that Auckland recently secured legislative authority to alter their method by introducing the"cross" system instead of using the AVellington .ine't" \d. of striking out-"the names of candidates not favoured,-and. the hope is expressed that ■Wellington will at an early date secure a. similar privilege,
