With the intention of cutting down expenses the manager of a certain firm was making a careful scrutiny of the petty cash book. One item which caught his1 eye was "Large Bottle Baxter's Lung Preserver." He called the petty cash clerk and inquired whether this purchase was necessary. He was informed that due to colds several members of the staff had each los^ two or three days' work, but a big improvement had been noticed since a bottle of "Baxter's" was kept handy to nip colds in the bud. So convincing was this explanation that the manager complimented the clerk on her discretion, saying she had had both the motherly instinct and the business instinct, and further directed that at all times, winter and summer, a bottle of "Baxter's" should be kept in the office. New Zealand climate is so changeable that at ho 'time of the year is one absolutely safe from coughs and colds. It always pays to bo ready with "Bax> ter's," the proven best remedy "with the tonic properties." ■ All chemists and stores sell "Baxter 's" in three sizes, the big family size economy bottle at 4s 6d, also 2s 6d and Is 6d.— Advt.
