DAMAGE AT TE AROHA

The south wing of tlie Te. Aroha Jockey Club's stables was gutted by fire early last Sunday evening.

The outbreak occurred in the height of a gale, but fortunately it was noticed early by Mr. Frank "Toms; who'called the fire brigade. The flames were confined to the interior, otherwise the long wooden buildings would soon have been destroyed with the flames fanned by the strong wind. ■ -
