♦ Police and sumnions, cases -were dealt with, at the Magistrate's Court today by Mr. E. Pago, S.M. A remand until Wednesday was granted in the case of 'Charles Edward Thomas, a painter, aged 23, who was . charged with breaking and entering the shop of Enoch Jorgensen at 118 Russell Terrace and stealing goods valued at £6 ss. A fine of £1, in default seven days' imprisonment, jWas imposed .on James Charles MeAulay, aged 44, for casting offensive matter in Willis Street. On a farther charge of drunkenness the accused was convicted and discharged. . .Henry Edward Mansfield Drummond, a traveller, aged 29, was remanded until Thursday on a charge of receiving a quantity of clothing " valued at £3 6s . 2d, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained. Alexander Poster was fined £1 for casting offensive matter in Kent Terrace. Ranchod Rama was convicted and ordered to pay 10s costs, for depositing rubbish in Buckle Street. For opening a shop for the sale of goods on a Sunday, Peter Razos was lined 10s. ■ Wallace Smith w,i=t fined 10s for a breach of his prohibition order. On a charge of assaulting Edward Murphy, John R. R.-Ryder was, fined 10s. A fine of £5 was imposed on Edmund j Kerry Lomas for keeping bees iv other than frame hives. , •-■ Fines o£ £2 in each case were imposed on Basil Berry, George Penny, John Bode Power, and Jules Manzoni for being found- unlawfully on licensed' premises after hours. Jack Leaf and Alfred S. Jackson were each fined £ I for similar I offences.
