ANNUAL CONVENTION
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, March 16. The business sessions of the fortyninth Dominion convention of the Women's Christian Temperance Union began today. The Dominion treasurer, Miss LovellSmith, submitted her report dealing with the organising fund, headquarters? income and expenditure, literature, fund, New. Zealand-fund/ Maori fund, and work among seamen. In spite of the general financial depression, the' report was of an encouraging nature-and showed a satisfactory balance of cash in hand and an excess of assets over liabilities. : The report of the corresponding secretary, Miss Henderson,: stated that there were nearly 10,000 on the cradle roll, an-increase of 1000 on last year.
