BALANCE OF TRADE
HEAVY EXCESS OF EXPORTS
By courtesy of the Customs overseas trade returns for the two months ended February 28 are received. They show a credit' to the Dominion, as represented by excess of export values over those of imports of £4,361,881 expressed in . New Zealand currency; but this excess is reduced to £3,282,000 when the values of imports are taken at their current domestic value in the countries whence they come, plus 10' per cent. Even so, the credit balance of over three and a quarter millions is very substantial for but two months of trading.
