SYDNEY, March la,
A radio message received in Sydney today stated that the steamer Talleyrand had abandoned the search for the Kinscn Maru.after having combed out sixty miles south of tile spot indicated as the last known position of the missing vessel. Masters of other vessels in the same area declare that the weather prevailing when the SOS calls wore received would have carried the Kinscn Maru north-east into the open sea. The Talleyrand, which is bound for Rabaul, advised later thafshe would continue the search.
The Sydney agents' of the Talleyrand received a message from Captain Sorrensen stating that in his opinion there was Httlo hope of finding the missing Kinsen Maru.
An official of the Yamashita Company stated that it was very unlikely that the Kinsen Maru was still afloat, but they were still hopeful that the crew of thirty-eight would be picked up on the ship's boats.
