MANOR PARK CLUB
A satisfactory season was foreseen by the president of the Manor Park Golf Club, Mr. A. S. T. Butler, at the annual meeting last night. '"The links will be in better condition than "ever before," he said. "Rains during February have advanced the greens more than six weeks earlier than usual." The club had come out of the past year remarkably well. The i membership, which had been. 42women and 45 men, had been through resignations to 69, but those leaving were mostly one-year members. Kew members coming in would bring the total- back, to the previous number. Ho would like to bring the membership up to 100, and_he asked those present to do all they could to bring. that about. It was proposed by Mr. J. L: Barnard that the entrance fee for the •coming year be not'levied. Mr. J. St. H. Pope> who seconded, said that in -bringing in' new members this would be of great 'value. The motion was carried. > ■
The uieeting-decided,to ■fix the official opening day of the winter season at Saturday, March 25, with a; mixed fourball best ball bogey, competition. .The past year was reviewed, anil members who assisted the club by giving trophies arid donations were thanked. Ap^ preciation of the services of Mr. H. Valentine as honorary auditor was shown.
Officials for the ensuing year'were elected as follows:—President, Mr. A. S. T. Butler; vice-presidents, Messrs. Cody, Harrower, and Jackson; club captain, Mr. E." W. Brockett; hon/ secretary,. Mr. J. L. Barnard-; committee. Messrs'. Farringtor,, Forbes, Mehaffey, Pope, N and; Piodgeis; hon. auditor, Mr. H. Valentine. The ladies' committee was also elected, comprising the following:—Club captain, Miss B. Pairbrother; hnn. secretary, Miss Kerr; committee, Mrs. Barnard, Mrs. Sherwood, Miss Bray, Miss.Willis,,and Miss Nash.
