THE DIAMOND CLUB

The annual general meeting of the Diamond Football Club was held last even- ' mg. Mr. A. G. Barnett presided over an attendance of about fifty members. Prospects for the coming season were stated to be exceptionally bright. Mention was made in the annual r&port of'the advantage derived from opportunities for training on week nights. Despite the difficult times, there was a credit balance of £4 2s sd. The report stated that, the club last season had put up consistently good performances throughout the grades. Th first divison ■ once again captured the Auld Memorial Trophy, and finished thfrd on the championship ladder. The first reserve team won the championship, and reached the cup final; the intermediate divijon won the Henderson Memorial Cup, and was third on _ the championship ladder; the fifth division was unfortunate in losing one championship match through nnknowingly playing a boy over age, and through th« forfeiture of these two points came second in the championship. The team played through to the cup final of the division, and was defeated after a splendid game, and also defeated a secondary school representative team at Palmersion. Nortii later in the season. The seventh division occupied sixth place in the championship, and after two cnp final, replays succeeded in winning the cup. The eighth, division finished up. fourth in the championship. Aspen; management committee, Messrs.Colpus, Bryson, Fanington, Ewing, Geddie, Roberts, Steel, Smith, Cunningham, arid Hopper; club captain; Mr. A. Auld.
