THE FRUIT EMBARGO
AUSTRALIA-NEW ZEALAND
REQUEST FOR REMOVAL
SYDNEY, February 24. ' A deputation from the Fruit Grow-' ers' Federation today interviewed Mr. J. Gr. Latham, Attorney-General, and Mr. C. "W. Marr, Minister of Health, and urged that a Government representative be sent to New Zealand to develop trade and endeavour to remove the embargo on Australian fruit. Mr. Latham, replying, said that the Government was seized with the importance of increased trade with New Zealand, and would do its umost to settle the fruit trouble. However, according to State experts, it would be unwise to raise any restrictions against New Zealand fruit at present.
