J. E. McKenzie, the well-known owner of trotting horises, has taken out an amateur trainer's and driver's licence. As no successor has been'announced .to G. Moufitz, i#ho resigned from, the position of private 'trainer to Mr. McKenzie, it would appear that that gentleman intends to train his team himself for the present. "The Addington 'trainer TV. J. Tomkinson is to'be'represented at the Auckland Trotting Club'S'Meeting, which commences tomorrow,' by. Wilma Dillon and: Willie Derby, but could not spare the time to accompany the horses himself. They will be- driven 'in .their engagements by J. Fraeer, .who left, on Tuesday night in charge -.of Wilrpa Dillon, who had .worked out satisfactorily over ,one and a quarter miles that morning. Willie Derby was dispatched' from 'Lyttelton some 'days pre.viously,^ making the trip to Auckland direct by boat.' , Mr. D. R. Eevell's crack 'pacer Colorado has been put 'in work again j>y" R- Berry after, a short - spell, and is^ looking in great -heart* . . Royal Silk is still running in hiß owner's gig, and is not likely to be put in work for some time yet. It is stated in the south that he is unlikely to be raced before the. August fixture. Wrackler -was to have been given a good spell after the recent Addington Meeting, but as there is a likelihood of a fast-class trotters' race being placed on the Metropolitan Club's Easter programme, it has been decided to keep him going in the meantime, after which he will be put away until next season. D. Withers has thrown Eegal Voyage and Todd Lonzia out of work, and the pair aie to have a long spell. This is a pailicularly wise move in the case of Todd Lonzia, and the young trotter may be eipected to show great improvement nextl season.
