HIDE AND SKIN SALES

The ■ fortnightly sale of hides, skins, and tallow, was held yesterday by the combined.Wellington brokers.. There was the -usual bench of buyers operating. The total offering was 12,900 sheepskins and 17pO hides and calfskins. In sympathy with^the wool market, • values generally for sheepskins were somewhat lower than the: prices current at the last sales held here.vHeavy.lrideg were'%d to %d higher and;; lights %d: to %d lower. 'Light'and medium os hides were easier by %d to %d.. Heavy.hides were %d to %& dearer. Kip and' yearling were about on-a par. Trith last: sale, but calfskins were about %d lower, The range of prices was:— / v. , Dry Sheepskins.—These were %d to %d lower.
