(Deceived 6th February, 11 a.m.) CALCUTTA, sth February. The drastic economies effected i£ 1931 having restored Budgetary equilibrium, the India Government an« nounces that the emergency salaries cut of Government officials will be re- ' duc'ed from 10 per cent, to 5 per cent.,-: but they will have to pay 25 per cent, j income tax surcharge, from which they, I have been hitherto exempted.
