OBITUARY
MISS KATHLEEN O'KEEFFE
A highly respected resident of Wellington, Miss Kathleen O'Keeffe, died ou Saturday, and the interment took place at Karori Cemetery to-day. - With her brother, the lat'eTMr. John o?Kceffe, of Martinborough, Miss O'Keeffe came to New Zealand from Ireland many years ago and underwent all the hardships of the early Wairarapa. pioneers.,- For some years past she had lived in retirement in Wellington. The late Miss O'Keeffe was well known throughout her life, as she will be in death, for her great charity. Requiem Mass • was celebrated this morning at St. Mary of the Angels' Church, Boulcott street, by the Rev. Father McHardy, and the service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Father Heffernan. The pallbearers were Messrs. T. Brodie, A. Hollis, W. Evans, J. J. Burke, and Denis and J. J. McGrath. There was a large attendance at the Requiem Mass, and friends of-the deceased sent many beautiful wreaths. Apart from a few personal bequests, the deceased left the whole of her valuable estate to her trustee, -Mr. J. J. McGrath, for the welfare of the Catholic poor in New Zealand, and she also gave substantial bequests to the Home of Compassion, St. Joseph's Orphanage, and St. Gerard's Church, Hawker street.
