SHOW AT BROOKLYN
The Brooklyn Horticultural Society held its summer show on Saturday. In his address, the president, Mr. R. V: Taylor, thanked all competitors for their combined help to the society. He said one only had to look around among the flowers and vegetables to see that the high quality of the exhibits was being maintained. Among the many visitors was Mr. A. Soanes, president ,of the Canterbury Horticultural Society. The society desires to thank the j-idges, Mrs. G. Smith, Miss Christian, and Messrs. G. Clark, Westbnry, and Jackson. Mr. Rice was the most successful competitor, winning the president's trophy for the highest points in the show. Mr. Rice also holds the gladoli challenge cup, Mr. R. N. Walls's trophy for gladoli, aud Mr. 8.-H. Haines's trophy for vegetables. Other trophies won were:—Gladioli, Mrs. Ingle; pansies, Mr. G. Clarke; pot plants, Mr. A; Elliott; home section, Miss Wesley; ladies' decorative. Mrs. Sievers; eliilth-en's class. Master, Graham Beavis. The champion bloom, Madame M. Sully, was exhibited by Mr. Rice. Prize-winners were: — Roses.—Mr. H.
