HEMP MARKET EASIER.
The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 30th January, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— "Hemp.—Manila market quiet and easier on account of the exchange. 'X' grade for March-May shipment sold early this week at £16. At the close sellers of JanuaryMarch shipment asked £15 15s. Sisal market steady. No. 1 for February-April shipment sold £15, and for March-May shipment £15 ss. New Zealand: Market is easier on- account. of the exchange. Small business has been done in FebruaryMarch shipment, fair £13 5s and common £11 15s closing sellers."
