Sir Berkeley Sheffield and Lady Arthur Grosveuor, who have been the guests.of Their Excellencies the Gov-ernor-General and Lady Bledisloe at Government House for the past few days, left by the Eangitata this morning for England. Mrs. Maurice Harris, who has been staying with her sister, Lady Myers, left 'Wellington by the "Wahganella for Sydney, en route to Adelaide. Mr. ana Mrs. Warwick Gregory, Wadestown, left Wellington yesterday for a brief visit to Taupo. Mrs. John Grigg, Longheach, is a visitor to Wellington for the races. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Eeid, Talavera terrace, who have been spending the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Frater, Bay of Islands, returned to Wellington yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Louisson, Manawatu, are visitors to Wellington for tho races. Miss Kit OrniSnd, Hawkes Bay, will leave on Monday night for Christchurch to stay with Miss Diana Allen. She will also visit Mrs. Frank Eolleston, Timaru. Miss Bosaniond Harper, Karori, is visiting North Canterbury. Mr.and' Mrs. Dan Biddiford, Featheraton, motored to Trentham yesterday for tho' races. Mrs. G. A. Troup and Misses • Troup, Kelburn, returned to- Wellington yesterday after a holiday spent at Taupo. Mrs. C- M. Turrell lias returned to Wellington a visit to Christchurch., Mrs. Maurice Earle, Wanganui, is a visitor to Wellington for race week. Miss Jacqueline- Ormond, Hawkes Bay, will leave next week for Christchurch, to stay with. Miss Elizabeth Acland, St. Alban's. Mrs. J. H. Frater and her two daughters motored to Wellington from the Bay of Islands, and are staying with Mrs. Gordon Eeid, Talavera terrace. Mrs. Elgar motored from Peatherston y-esrterday for the Taces. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Heslop, who have been spending some weeks in Christchurch, # have arrived 'in Wellington, where they will reside in future. The engagement is announced in. an exchange of Brenda Mary, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Blyfch, Waitahora, Dannevirke, to Eoger Christian,, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grigg (Mcadowbank, Marlborough). .. . .
