A MINE IDLE
(By Telegraph.—Pnepi Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. No work has been done at the Wilton Coal Mine this week, the miners having struck as a protest against notice of dismissal served on 55 of the men.
Several large jelly-fish have been seen floating in the water at Muritai. They arc white in colour and look like pieces of seaweed.
At a stop-work meeting of the Seamen's Union a resolution of sympathy and condolence was passed with the families and relatives of the men who lost their lives when tho Tv Atu collided with the launch Doris at the entrance to the inner harbour at Napier on "Sth. December.
