NO STATEMENT FROM
MR. FORBES
Persistent rumours aro current that the Government, in giving attention to ways and means of helping the fanucr through his present economic difficulties, has again given consideration to the question of raising the exchange rate.
Replying to questions on this point this afternoon, the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes) said that he was-not prepared at present to discuss the- work which was being done by Cabinet. The public would be made acquainted with the Government's policy at the right time, and ho was not going 'to issue any advance statements.
