FIREMAN KILLED
ENGINE LEAVES RAILS
DRIVER'S NARROW ESCAPE
(Received 16th January, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Leaping- the rails as it rounded a curve, the engine of a goods train crashed on its side near Bathurst. The fireman, Leslie Burke, a young married man, was killed. The /driver, John Gebbie, had a miraculous escape. Though covered with debris and wreckage, he managed to crawl out with a few Bruises and scratches.
