RETURN OF SINGLETON
•It is reported from the North that Singleton, who has been off the scene since his breakdown in the Winter Hurdles at the Wellington Winter Meeting eighteen -months ago, is to be-given another trial, and with this end in view he is now back doing easy exercise work at Takanini. When brought out on the track' last week he had the leg that caused tlie trouble heavily bandaged, but his general appearance, was excellent. If he stands up to the work that must Be allotted him from now on he should prove one of the best hurdlers in the land this winter, for in his short jumping career previously he' was able to give a real taste of his ability. He is now eight years old.
