A . LONG WAIT

A heavy fog on' Saturday evening had the effect of • preventing a number of ships from entering the "Wellington Heads yesterday. Fortunately the ships did not miss a working day, all being able to enter port in the early hours this morning.

A number of vessels, including the Lyttelton a,nd Nelson ferry steamers, were, able to enter port up to 11.30 a.m. yesterday. The Wanganella, on her maiden voyage from Sydney, could have been in port at 9.30 p.m. yesterday had she not been delayed by the fog. '.. J .
