UNION OF ISLANDS
'The' Commission of three to study the question of closer union between the Leeward and Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles arived at the scene' of inquiry early in # December, and reported an. excellent passage south from Bermuda in the Canadian National Steamship's liner Lady Drake. The chairman of the Commission is Sir Charles !Fergusson, who was Governor-General of New Zealand in tho term, of office before Lord Bledisloe's, and he said: "Only once have I ever had better accommodation aboard ship," and "that thq Canadian National Steamships link between Canada, and the British colonies is a boon to passenger and freight traffic between the two units of the Empire.'' The other members of the Commission are Sir Sydney Armitage-Smith and Sir Charles Orr. In December the Com' mission studied the Leeward Islands, and: this month it is studying tlie Windward' Group, and February will^ be devoted to' Trinidad. . ' '.:
