WIN-AND-PLACE SYSTEM
The Matamata Baeing Club's Committee has followed Waikato's lead by deciding to adopt the win-and-place system of betting for its coming meeting on 4th February. It will thus be the first club to try-out the system. in: the North. . In reference to the cost of the scheme the .totalisator contractors' have required an additional 10 per cent, to cover the cost of extra staff, etc, but against this the fractions to the club should be greater and the decline in betting arrested.
