ASSAILANTS GET AWAY

AUCKLAND, find January.
Two .young men attacked a girl of sixteen, who was returniug to her home in Arinadale road, Eomuera, at ten o'clock at nigut.
The girl was struck about the head. Her'cries were heard and help was forthcoming. The assailants, however, vanished in the darkness.
The victim received severe head injuries, necessitating the insertion of several stitches. She is also suffering from shock.
