A NEW STEAMER
A new steamer for the Colonial Sugar E.efining Company, limited, is now.being laid down at the yards of the Caledon Shipbuilding ana Engineering Co., Ltd., Dundee. She :is expected to reach Australia about the1 middle of next year, and will embody, all the latest features of design. Of 3250 tons deadweight capacity, the new vessel will be a semi-tanker, able to carry about 2000 tons of molasses. Her dimensions will be: Length 2So feet, breadth 44 feet, depth 20 feet 6 inches. The propulsion machinery will be placed aft and will be of the triple expansion type, : designed to give .the ship a speed of ten knots under average service conditions.
