AUCKLAND, This Day.
A search party is leaving Auckland this afternoon to look for'E. A. Goodwin, a University student who, for a wager, set out late on Saturday night to walk ' from Henderson along the coast to the Heads and back in twenty-four hours. He had not returned by midday to-day, and as* he had few clothes and little food the search party is setting out as a precaution.
French families are growing smaller. In 1835 the average was four children; to-day, it is just over two.
