CARNIVAL NIGHT

GLIDE SKATING RJNK

Hundreds of skaters and spectators attended tho c. 'vice-versa' ♦ carnival at tie- Glide Skating Rink. The patrons entered into the spirit of tho carnival with great zest. The ladies became rather oharming "men," ana their vis-a-vis completed the masquerade in a galaxy o£ blondes, brunettes, etc. From "open sesame" until reluctantly the doors were closed tho carnival exceeded expectations, and tho merry peals of laughter and the shrill screams of tho "men" and tho rippling baritones of the "ladies" testified to the success of the evening. Contrary to tho general rule, tho- "Glide" management wero not in uniformed evidence, but nevertheless they were there as blondes and brunettes—lipstick and all. But they did much toward the success attained. The grand march of "men" and "women" masqueraders was a brilliant spectacle of really clever serious make-up and burlesque.' This completely baffled the judges (Mr. and Mrs. A. Levy, Professor Keegan, and Mr. Stan Isaacs),,and from their dilimma they finally disintegrated Miss Waddell as tho best "serious man," and Miss M. Scott as the most humorous "male." Mr. S. Langford was -elected as the most charming "lady" masquerader, whilst Mr. "Buster" Holt was crowne"d as winning burlesque "female." Before the. singing of "Auld Lang Syne" the rink staged an aerial 1 ombardment by means ,o£ balloons and a snowstorm of streamers.
