CYCLE ROAD RACE
GOULBURN TO SYDNEY
(Received 19th September, 8 a.m.) SYDNEY, 17th September. The cycle road race from Goulburn to Sydney, 129 miles, in which two hundred amateurs and 133 professionals took part, was held to-day in unfavourable weather with head- winds and showers. E. Millikin, of Victoria, won the amateur section from scratch m the record time of 5 hours 38 minutes 42 seconds. B." Sefton, with a handicap of 38* minutes, was second, and E. Johns, off scratch, third. _T. Brown, with a handicap of 57$ minutes, won the professional event in 6 hoars 7 minutes 30 seconds. T. Brooks, 57* minutes, was second, and T. Walters, 60 minutes start, third. R. Lamb, the international, did not1 start. The special prize for the, fastest time by professionals went to H. Crnise (Victoria), his time being 5 hours 46 minutes 59 seconds.
