DECLINE IN LIVE STOCK
TRADE
(Received 19th September, 11 a.m.)
LONDON, 18th September. The month's trade returns indicate that the largest single item in the decline in the imports of foodstuffs is Irish live stock, suggesting that the Treasury has not much hope of raising the annuities out of the duties. . Exports to the Irish Tree State have only slightly diminished, indicating thafr, the British blockade is more effective than the Irish. Mr. do Valera is clearly having considerable difficulty in making the Tree State independent of Britain.
