EXCELLENT SIDE
VIC RICHARDSON'S VIEW
"They have seventeen players from whom an excellent Test side can be chosen," remarked V. Y. Richardson, captain of the / Australian cricket touring team, at present in Wellington, in commenting upon the M.C.C. team to be seen in Australia and New ' Zealand this summer. "It looks as though some very keen games will take place on,the tour."
Those members of the team now in Wellington who are likely to be selected to play against the Englishmen, said Richardson, are. in top form as a result of the tour to Canada and America. They have had a very fine rest on the homeward voyage, and are looking, forward keenly to the season about to commence in Australia. '
In reply to a question s regarding Ileetwood-Smith, said to be the only, left-arm "googly" bowler in the world to-day, the visiting captain said that this unusual bowler had shown tremendous improvement on the tour. "We feel that this tour has improved his standard and his possibilities as a Test bowler," Vjc Richardson added.
