I Both' on the'voyage to America and on the return trip, the New Zealand Olympici Games representatives wer« entertained lavishly at Earotonga im true island fashion -by the natives. ■ "They are wonderful people, those natives at Earotonga," said/Mr. P. N. ■'■■ Bundle, manager of the team, on hit return to Wellington yesterday. "They s gave us a wonderful reception... Wo were entertained coming,, home along with the Ottawa delegation and the Australian cricketers. ■-We had a drive around the island and a bathe in the lagoon, and . were present at •a. feast at King Ariki Makea's palace. There was some beautiful singing and native dancing. I shall never forget the flinging by the native girls." x The New Zealand team played & Rugby match against the natives, who s were barefooted, and won by 9 points to 5. It was the first time the Barotongans had been beaten, on their own ground, and Mr. Bundle said that among^the natives there were some fine players. The New Zealanders were also entertained on the tennis courts and on the bowling greens.
'5t was a delightful day," added Mr. Bundle. "The Australians reckoned it was the best day they had had in their travels, and we reckoned it was about our best day." '
