KARORI UNITED CLUB
The. Karori United Tennis Club held their annual meeting recently. The majority of the members of the club were present. The hon. secretary, Mr. E. lieQueen, presented the balance-sheet and report of the club's activities-for the past year. The balance-sheet showed a good credit balance. The hon. secretary was complimented on his balance-sheet and report, both being adopted. : The club captain, Mr. H. Tingay, gave his report on club events for the past •year. The winner of the ladies' section :of the ladder was Miss M. Horniblow, ,while L. Kaywood,-. was' the winner of -the raen's section. United Tennis Club- is run in. ;con junction .with the Loyal Eyde branch of the.Grand. .United Order of Oddfellows Friendly Society^ Both the tennis' club and the lodge have benefited in membership through each other. Both bodies co-operate in all social functions and many benefits'are gained by the members socially or fraternally. > This year ; the club intends to extend its membership, ;havmg^acquired:a section ,of land, and it is their intention to: lay down four new courts. These .will:: be ready for play within the next three weeks.
